Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year Greetings ~ 2011

Wow it has truly been a big year. Growing in my craft, creating new and wonderful pieces, stamping some real amazing words and names onto metal for great people, and looking on the bright side of life as always!
I hope you all had a lovely christmas and looking forward to the New YeaR. 2011 will be what we make it right!!.
I will be trying to eat and live more of a healthier lifestyle. Good food and exercise is what it will be about in the new year.
Off course more jewelry and create some special pieces when they happen.

The highlight of my year is to be selected to be a participating artist in a exhibition to be held in Seattle in 2011.
That will be cool:)

A little about Gold - Filled products

Hi everyone,
I just wanted to share a little bit about my experince with Gold Filled products.

With Gold prices so high .... this commodity is in demand..... and be careful dont sell of your gold for next to nothing.........

Anyway back to the gold filled.. when I started working with it I was a little skeptical but you know it is a great product. The only thing with it is that it can tarnish a little. But all you have to do is rub it and wow back to its shiny self. And the tarnishing is not unsightly it is just a couple of shades darker.

I am fairly impresssed with Gold filled. In these times where gold will just get more and more expensive then gold-filled is cool for those that like the look of the shiny yellow / pink metal.

Currently I offer a 5mm band in the shop however will probably in time offer other gold -filled products.

I also have bought the raw material - gold filled products of two different manufacturers and you know the quality can sometimes differ from company to company.

A photo of a little creation that I recently did.. It is not in the shop because I am still working this design out. This is like a prototype. Design is the solutions of little problems. The problem with this ring is the plate used in the dish is a little too thin so back to making it but with thicker plate and yet to get that delicate look and not a too chunky look.. I will post the new ring when it is done!? Sorry my morning rave:)Best Trudie xo

A little more work!

It is Saturday morning here and all I want to do is make a few more things however I am getting Grrr looks from family.....Anyway here are a few pieces I did in the last couple of days and some work is waiting on the desk Grrr ! lol..... Do I reaaly have to do the shopping? I suppose so LOL!

Photos taken by a humble Canon

Here are the photos of the same gemstones - peridots and star sapphires with no enhancements.. Interesting.. they are not as flashy as in the photos on the website but still good stones ready to be set..

About those photos of the gemstones I have purchased...?

I have realized that the photo of the gemstones I have purchased are really great and yet kinda ugly, and yet I wonder how true the photos are to the actual product I get.
I will post a picture of what the gems look like with my camera as soon as they arrive in the mail.
You know photos are tricky cause to get a good photo of a product it needs to be on macro and therefore a closeup and often the product appears bigger..!!
Have you bought something online and then when you get it it is smaller then the photo?? I have ..
I am going to try and take my photo on macro but getting a balance between a closeup and reality!
Anyway thats post for the day I will post photos of the gemstones when I receive them. xo

A Treasury for a treasure in my life - Emily....
